Mechanical Engineering
The Department of Mechanical Engineering offers a four-year B.Tech program in Mechanical Engineering with an annual intake of 60 students, aimed at developing strong engineering fundamentals along with practical and analytical skills required for modern industries. The program provides students with a comprehensive understanding of core mechanical engineering concepts such as thermodynamics, manufacturing processes, machine design, fluid mechanics, and materials engineering, enabling them to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world engineering problems.
Over the years, the department has expanded its academic offerings with several specialized postgraduate programs. The department is supported by well-equipped laboratories, modern research facilities, and experienced faculty members dedicated to teaching and innovation. It also provides Ph.D. research opportunities in various areas of Mechanical Engineering, encouraging advanced research, industry collaboration, and practical learning to prepare students as skilled engineers and researchers capable of addressing complex engineering challenges.

Meet our distinguished faculty members who bring expertise and excellence to every classroom.

The Thermal Engineering Laboratory provides practical exposure to heat transfer, thermodynamics, and performance analysis of engines, boilers, and refrigeration systems.

This lab helps students understand the behavior of fluids through experiments on flow measurement, pressure, viscosity, and hydraulic machines.

The Strength of Materials Laboratory enables students to study material properties such as stress, strain, hardness, and impact resistance using standard testing equipment.

This lab focuses on machining processes including turning, milling, drilling, and shaping, giving students hands-on experience with production techniques.

The Dynamics and Vibrations Laboratory helps students analyze motion, balancing, and vibration characteristics of mechanical systems.

This lab introduces students to computer-aided design and manufacturing tools for modeling, simulation, and product development using industry-standard software.
